Large Hadron Collider

There was all the hype with the most expensive scientific equipment every built, Large Hadron Collider. The total cost for the project is expected to be €3.2–6.4 billion.

Large Hadron Collider was built by CERN, European Organization for Nuclear Research; the same organization who initiated ENQUIRE project, the beginning of World Wide Web. LHC is located underneath the Franco-Swiss border.

Quite many people afraid that it will create a black-hole that could destroy the earth. Some even sent death threats to stop the scientists from turning on the LHC; and some hackers have attacked the LHC.
